The objective of this course is to show you how easily Hypnodontics can change a dental practice and also launch hypnotists into working with dentists and dental patients. It helps you help people with their dental anxieties, oral habits jaw, gum and teeth problems.

SESSION 1: Introduction to the team, and our objectives. We examine the historic evolution of dentistry, the development of hypnosis as a surgical pain block compared to chemical anesthetics, and the place of hypnosis in managed dental care. What’s in it for the hypnotist and the dental practitioner.

SESSION 2: Physiologic, psychological, and sociological aspects of Hypnodontics, both from a dental practitioner’s and a dental patient’s point of view. We discuss how the hypnotist can expand into Hypnodontics, how to approach branching into dental issues e.g. anxieties, fears, gagging, bruxism, prosthetics, smoking, bulimia, sound/smell issues etc.

We examine the daily stressors that dentists face, so the Consulting Hypnotist can more empathetically structure a proposal for offering a dentist a sample session.

SESSION 3: How dentists can use hypnosis/NLP as an everyday tool, for self, staff, and patients, how dentists can work together with hypnotherapists in their practice suites, recommendations from dentists who became a licensed hypnotist and use hypnosis with their patients.

There is information for those dentists who wish to complete accredited training in hypnosis, and we present the current role of hypnotherapy in the practice of dentistry as a complementary therapy, and our expectations for the future.

SESSION 4:  We discuss and demo working with children, concerns of tooth development, their issues and suitable inductions and methods as well as how to deal with parents.

SESSION 5:  Discussion of Cases in the book, your cases, and global updates, working online and those brought to the forum by participants – both from the dentist and hypnotist point of view.

SESSION 6:  Always with the understanding that an excellent hypnotherapist has more advanced techniques in his/her toolbox than a script book. There will be demonstrations and practice of methods that we have not had time to discuss earlier e.g. regression to cause, parts therapy among others.
